Student Voice

Student Voice - Springvale Campus

Welcome to Term 3, Week 4 student voice newsletter. This school year has gone so fast! We are already more than halfway through the year. We are really excited about what we have planned for the rest of the year.

In Week 3, the SLC had a very exciting incursion when the Carlton Respects team came to our school. They taught us about communication, being an upstander, emotions and stereotypes. We learnt through a range of activities and games, which were both interesting and fun. Something that stood out to all of us was how they encouraged positive communication and taught us using real-life examples, including their own personal experiences. This showed us that everyone faces challenges in life, but the outcome often depends on the resilience we show.

On 3 August, we celebrate Principals’ Day, a special occasion to express our gratitude to our amazing principals. They support students, guide teachers and help create a strong, positive school community. Our principals are inspiring role models who demonstrate leadership, kindness and dedication every day. Their hard work and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of both students and teachers. Thank you to all our principals for everything you do. Happy Principals’ Day!

Next week, we have a special swimming program. This is important because swimming is a life skill that everyone should learn, and it provides a valuable opportunity for those who are still developing their swimming skills. Mr Kullar always says that we should learn to swim because our country is surrounded by water, and we think he is absolutely right! Swimming is not only a life skill, but it is also something that can save lives.

On Friday, 31 July, the Netball A team and the AFL team competed at Division. It was a really fun day because we got to meet new people and had the opportunity to socialise with students from other schools. Everyone showed great sportsmanship and demonstrated excellent skill. We are really appreciative of the teachers for giving up their curriculum day to give us this special opportunity. We are very proud, thankful and grateful for everyone who participated and represented our school so well.
