As we reach the halfway point of Term 3, it has been wonderful to see so much rich learning taking place across our school. Students have continued to embrace new opportunities with enthusiasm, curiosity and pride, making the most of the exciting experiences on offer.

Our JLC students recently enjoyed an exciting Mad About Science incursion that brought chemistry to life! Students were captivated as they watched dramatic colour changes, smoke, fizz and foam while exploring a range of fascinating chemical reactions and physical changes. The interactive session encouraged students to think like scientists by making predictions, observing carefully and asking questions about the world around them. It was wonderful to see so many curious minds engaged as they discovered the science behind everyday phenomena. Experiences like these help inspire a love of science and make classroom learning both meaningful and memorable.

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, each class created a 'Deadly Door' that recognised and celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements. Students demonstrated incredible creativity, collaboration and respect through their thoughtful designs. Congratulations to our winning classes, 1/2D and 3/4D, whose outstanding doors were selected as the winners on Springvale Campus. As their prize, students enjoyed a special cooking session with Mrs Lu, where they made delicious traditional Johnny Cakes together. This was a wonderful opportunity to continue learning about and celebrating First Nations cultures through a shared hands-on experience. 

This week, Springvale Campus also came together to celebrate Principal's Day with a special whole-school assembly. Students shared their appreciation through heartfelt messages, beautifully handmade cards and thoughtful gifts, making the principals feel incredibly special.  It was a wonderful reminder of the kindness, gratitude and strong sense of community that make Springvale Rise Primary School such a special place.
