Orange PLC Update

It's been a fabulous start to Term 3!

We have already been involved in so many exciting learning experiences. We kicked off the term with our Zero Plastics incursion, where we learnt more about recycling and how plastic waste can be turned into new and useful products. We then visited Gordon TAFE to explore their plastics recycling program. During the excursion, students had the opportunity to use shredding machines, design their own moulds, and create new products from recycled plastic lids. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that helped us understand how we can all make a positive difference to the environment.

The students have also loved being back in the swimming program, where students have been building their confidence in the water while learning important swimming and water safety skills. It has been great to watch the engagement of the students in working towards their Bronze Star.  This is an introductory lifesaving and water safety award focuses on developing water rescue skills, stroke efficiency, personal fitness, and an introduction to basic CPR.

Alongside these exciting experiences, students have continued to participate in our regular community access programs, classroom learning, and Business Enterprise activities. From developing independent living skills and communication to working together in real-life work experiences, everyone has made a fantastic start to the term. We look forward to sharing even more of our learning and achievements as Term 3 continues!
