Our Evans Open Boys Volleyball Team hit the court against Cambridge Park High School and brought the energy from the very first serve.
They came out firing, taking the first set convincingly with sharp teamwork, strong communication and some powerful spikes that had the sideline buzzing. While the overall result didn’t fall our way this time, the grit, sportsmanship and determination on display made us incredibly proud.
A huge thank you to Mrs Fuduric for preparing the boys and building their confidence each week at training, and to Mr Sondaar for always being there behind the wheel before and after school. It truly takes a team off the court as well as on it.

Well done to our Opens Netball team for their efforts in their recent knockout match against Blacktown Girls High School. Although the team went down in a tough contest, they demonstrated great determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the game.
A special mention to Trishna and Esther, who both had outstanding games and showed great versatility by confidently playing across multiple positions on the court. Their adaptability and effort were a real highlight for the team.
With several players eligible to return, this match has laid a strong foundation for our 2027 Opens team. The experience gained will be invaluable, and we look forward to seeing this group continue to develop and come back even stronger next year.
The girls showed resilience against strong opposition and continued to support one another until the final whistle. Their commitment and positive attitude were a credit to both themselves and our school.
Penrith Schoolboys Cup
Congratulations to the Opens Boys Rugby League Team for participating at the Penrith Schoolboys Cup. The team started off strong with a dominating performance against St Claire winning 18-4 and were unlucky to lose by 1 try against Colo High School.
The team was brilliantly led by our co-captains Isa and Tui. They were supported with outstanding performances by Steve and Jonis. The team showed great sportsmanship, discipline and gave it 100%. Big thank you to Ms Hill for driving the team in the school bus. Our coaches are extremely proud, well done boys!
SLR Fun
Our incredible SLR students headed to Sydney Olympic Park to complete part of their Individual Sports unit… and this time, it was all about Disc Golf.
After weeks of practical lessons and skill development back at school, our students were more than ready to take their game off-campus and onto the course. This fast-growing sport challenged their focus, coordination and strategy — and they rose to the occasion beautifully!
A huge shout-out to Mr O’Brien, who has been working closely with the students to refine their technique. With his semi-professional experience in Disc Golf, he has helped them truly sharpen their skills and confidence. What an asset to our school community.
And thank you to Mr Brown for leading the excursion and giving our students this fantastic opportunity to bring their learning to life beyond the classroom. Experiences like this are what make learning meaningful and memorable.
The students had an absolute blast and represented Evans High School with pride. We are so proud of their effort, enthusiasm and teamwork
Well done, SLR!
Our SLR students also enjoyed bowling as part of their studies.
Table Tennis
Mr Brown and Mr Tudman generously volunteer their time during recess and lunch to support senior students in developing their table tennis skills. Their dedication provides students with valuable opportunities to practice, refine techniques, and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Through their guidance and encouragement, they help foster both skill development and a strong sense of sportsmanship among students.
