International Day of Women and Girls in Science
At Evans High School, we celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. on Friday, 13 February, with a Women in Science Symposium, featuring guest speakers from a wide range of science fields. Students are also invited to take part in a “Future Me” photo booth at recess and lunch, and explore a gallery walk showcasing international and Australian women in science — including selected Australian and Indigenous women scientists, with portraits created by our talented Year 10 Photography students.
This year’s theme — “Synergising AI, Social Science, STEM and Finance: Building Inclusive Futures for Women and Girls” — reminds us that the future of science is strongest when it is inclusive, collaborative and forward-thinking.
We look forward to celebrating the contributions of women in science and inspiring future pathways for all students.
