CAPA Faculty

Term 1 with the CAPA Faculty
Art Express
Senior Visual Arts classes got to see Art Express at the Art Gallery of NSW. Viewing a showcase of high-ranking student bodies of work from 2025. We also quickly saw the Ron Mueck exhibition and the immersive "key is under the mat" installation by Mike Hewson. They had a great day!
Biennale
Senior Visual Arts had a fantastic time visiting the Biennale at White Bay Power Station. We learnt so much more about current conceptual art and contemporary art practices. Thank you to all staff who supported this excursion.
Pulse Alive
Congratulations to our CAPA students at Pulse Alive 2026!
We had 8 Massed Dancers, 6 Massed Choir Singers and Tiana of Year 9 who was selected to be in the Pulse Alive Dance Company.
There have been countless rehearsals, especially for Tiana, since the school holidays. The students had a great time and represented the school fabulously. A special congratulations to Tiana for her extra performances!
Thanks to Mrs Fuduric and Mr O’Brien for running your at school rehearsals and for being there all day and to Mr Sondaar who drove the bus picked everyone up at 10pm.
Fana _Principal Art Prize
We are incredibly proud of our 2025 HSC graduate Fana, whose outstanding Year 12 Major Artwork, When Sparks Meet Flesh, was showcased at our annual Year 12 Major Works Exhibition — an evening where families join us to celebrate the creativity and dedication of our students.
Each year, our Principal, Ms Nerina Pretlove, views the showcase and selects the recipient of the Principal’s Art Prize, and Fana’s breathtaking work was this year’s winner.
🏆He was recognised at our End-of-Year Awards Ceremony, and Evans High School has proudly purchased his artwork. It is now beautifully framed and displayed in our front administration office, where it will be enjoyed for the next 12 months before moving to its forever home in our school library.
As part of the prize, Fana also received professional photographs and framing of his major work, giving him a keepsake he can treasure for life. 🖼️💛
A huge thank you to Mr Dempsey, Head Teacher CAPA, whose guidance and support helped nurture this remarkable piece of art.
Congratulations Fana, your work is truly magnificent, and we are so proud to have it as part of the Evans High story. 🌟
