Deputy Principal Report

It has been a busy and positive start for our staff and students this year.
We have moved into our new attendance and wellbeing platform, Compass. Thank you for your patience as we have learned the new system and fixed errors. We also appreciate the feedback shared with us. Our Compass support desk at Open Night worked well, and we are willing to continue helping parents with our new school system. We encourage parents and carers to download the Compass app to their phones. It allows you to see your child’s attendance and other school-related information, including reports. We will begin publishing school reports straight to Compass this year. Reports will only be printed on special request.

We would like to remind families about the importance of regular attendance. Coming to school every day helps students stay on track with their learning, build strong habits, and stay connected with their teachers and friends. Even missing a few days can make it harder for students to keep up. Students must remain at school until the compulsory school age of 17. However, there are other pathways available. If your child is working fulltime, starting an apprenticeship or TAFE, please contact the school, and we will work with you to ensure a smooth transition for your child.
Finally, wearing the correct school uniform is also very important. It helps students feel part of our school community and shows pride in our school. With winter nearing, we would also like to remind everyone that uniform standards should not drop. If there is a reason a student attends school without their uniform, they must have a note from home. Please support your child by making sure they come to school each day in full school uniform. We need students to understand that the expectation of wearing a uniform is something that extends beyond the school gates.
We wish all our students and families a safe and restful break and look forward to seeing everyone back for Term 2.
