Principal's Message

Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 3! We hope you had a wonderful break and managed to get out and about and have some fun with your children on the few sunny days we had. We have a big term ahead of us with some fabulous things happening.
Parent-Teacher Interviews – Thank You!
A huge thank you to all the families who attended our Parent-Teacher Interviews on Thursday. We had our highest attendance yet with 92% of families involved, highlighting the dedication of our families to maintaining strong partnerships between home and school that support your children’s learning and growth. Thank you to our staff for their careful preparation for these meetings to ensure you leave with a clear understanding of how your children are tracking and what they will be working on next.
Staff Professional Learning
Tarneit Rise Primary School was proud to host more than 300 educators from 16 schools across Wyndham for a highly successful Professional Learning Day on Friday, focused on strengthening evidence-informed teaching practice and improving outcomes for all students.
This event is the result of a collaborative partnership between Tarneit Rise Primary School, Laa Yulta Primary School and Think Forward Educators, bringing together educators from across Wyndham to learn from one another and strengthen evidence-informed practice. The day reflected our shared commitment to professional growth, collaboration and continuous improvement, with teachers and school leaders engaging in rich learning and meaningful discussions.
We were delighted to welcome Distinguished Professor Pamela Snow and Reid Smith as our keynote presenters, alongside a range of practitioners sharing classroom and leadership expertise, including many talented Tarneit Rise Primary School staff. Distinguished Professor Pamela Snow is an internationally recognised expert in language, literacy and the science of reading, while Reid Smith is a respected educator and instructional leader known for his work in evidence-informed teaching, curriculum implementation and school improvement.
The opportunity to learn alongside colleagues from across Wyndham highlighted the power of collective expertise and reinforced the importance of working together to achieve the best outcomes for every student.
We are incredibly proud of our staff for sharing their expertise and showcasing the outstanding work taking place at Tarneit Rise Primary School. Hosting this event was a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the professional learning of educators across our region and to continue building strong partnerships that benefit students, teachers and school communities alike.
School Start Time and Supervision
As we settle into the term, we kindly remind families that the school day begins at 8:45am. Yard supervision commences at 8:30am, and we ask that children are not dropped off before this time, as staff are not available to provide supervision until then. Ensuring students are safe and supported from the moment they arrive is a priority, and your cooperation with these times helps us maintain a secure environment for all.
After-School Safety Reminder for Families
We would like to remind families of our after-school supervision to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our students.
All students and families are asked to leave the school grounds by 3:25pm each day. This allows staff to complete end-of-day duties, locking external gates and ensures our school grounds remain secure and orderly. Anyone still in the school after 3.25pm will need to exit via the front gate at reception.
Students who make their own way home are reminded that they must go directly home at dismissal time. Loitering on or near school premises after school can lead to unnecessary concerns for both staff and families.
Your support in reinforcing these expectations with your children is greatly appreciated. Together, we can maintain a safe and respectful environment for our entire school community.
