Prep - 2 Community

April 2026

We have enjoyed a super start to the year and a very busy but productive Term 1. We firstly acknowledge our Foundation students and the success they have achieved in such a short period of time. Students have done an amazing job of developing new routines and beginning their learning journey with great skill and eagerness. A huge thank you to our new and returning families who have supported and worked with us to enjoy a smooth transition into school life.

Buddies

One program that has helped to guide and nurture our new preps has been our buddy program  where older students in our 5/6 year levels have begun developing friendships with our prep students to support their transition at school and encourage their learning. All students have looked forward to these times together and it has been fantastic to see the positive interactions.

Body and Mind Incursion

This term we have been learning about how to keep ourselves safe and healthy, and it was fantastic to see our 1/2 students enjoying an incursion Mind and Body. The instructors took us through ways to develop calm and grounded bodies which promotes focus and clarity in our daily activities.

Harmony Day

This term we celebrated Harmony Day with some fun and engaging activities. It was amazing to see that different cultures represented and the unity on display as students learnt from each other. A big thank you to our EAL team who organised these events for us.

Writing

Early literacy skills underpin everything we do and it has been encouraging to see students develop both their skills and a love of reading and writing. What a celebration of learning and growth seen in our students' writing!

It was the start of the race and Barry Banana was putting on his suit. “Ready set go!”  Barry was going so fast around the track. Then he won the race and he won a giant crown. He was so proud of himself. Emily Travan - Yr 2
