April 2026
Congratulations to all of Year 10 for a strong finish to Term 2! It has been a very busy term but we have accomplished a great deal and it has been great to see our Year 10 students continue to grow.
We are really excited for a strong finish to the term with our Amazing Race excursion and Harmony Day celebrations concluding our last two days.
Have a fantastic break Year 10!

Overall, I’m enjoying the year so far! The teachers have done really well as a group to keep teaching me. My highlights of the year so far included getting my Accelerated Maths test back and doing really well, as well as getting a great result in my English formative.
IMPACT has also been really enjoyable - we’ve done an excursion to see Cluedo: The Play which was very entertaining! We’ve also done candle-making which was a totally new experience for me - but I was able to knuckle down and learn some new techniques! I am looking forward to hopefully continuing my good start to the year! Samantha Perry

Year 12 students undertaking the VCE program attended an engaging and informative excursion to Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus. The ‘Day in the Life’ experience gave students a first-hand insight into university life and future career planning. The experience provided students with both inspiration and practical advice, helping them to feel more confident and informed about their future decisions. Students heard from Deakin students about their pathway journey and explored the campus to find their scheduled classes!
Apollo Bay Camp
Last week our Year 12 Outdoor Education crew headed off on their Apollo Bay camp, spending two nights in the beautiful Great Otway National Park.
Students enjoyed a range of activities including surfing at Anglesea and camping at Marengo. The group also completed a 10 km coastal hike from the Cape Otway Lighthouse to Aire River.
Along the way students were lucky enough to spot koalas, kangaroos and echidnas in the wild.
It was a fantastic few days outdoors and the students had an absolute blast!

Kire Olinathan - “The camp was quiet, calm and adventurous.”
Daniel Sharmao - “I had a magnificent time on camp, it was unforgettable!”
Shaynika Windahl - ““The best thing about camp was everyone coming together no matter if were friends or not.”
Mia Cameron - “Mr Mcmahon’s dance move in the dance circle was giving thriller.”

Over the past term our Year 12 students attended a Deakin University excursion, gaining valuable insight into future pathways.
I would like to remind students about organising Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) for next Term. If you need support please see your Your Friday SWL teacher ASAP!
I am incredibly proud of our EVM class for independently organising a school event and of course, for choosing me to taste test the cultural lunches!!

Student Reflections

In term we went on to the Formula 1 in Melbourne. One of the best parts of wondering around such a big event like the Grand Prix was shopping at all the merchendise stores, where we boughts gifts for our family. We then found a spot close to the track to watch the Formula 3 cars race.
We celebrated International Womens Day. We.hosted a morning tea with women who worked at local business Stage II come and talk about empowering and supporting women in the workplace.
