Harmony Day

April 2026

Celebrating our Community

A huge sense of pride flowed through every campus this term as our Harmony celebrations brought colour, culture and connection to life across the College. The energy, joy and generosity shown by students as they shared their identities through cultural dress, performances, food and powerful storytelling was truly uplifting. Moments like these remind us how fortunate we are to belong to such a richly diverse community, and how important it is that we continue nurturing spaces where every culture is honoured and every student feels seen.

Saturday’s Harmony Day Community Event was a spectacular finale. More than 700 visitors joined us, supported by an extraordinary network of partners including CoGG, Cloverdale Community House, Headspace, the NBC ELC and Community Hubs, Cultura, Cultural community organisations, Rotary and many others. Their presence helped create a celebration full of warmth, connection and genuine community spirit. We were also deeply grateful to welcome Councillor Anthony Aitken and local MP Ella George, whose ongoing support and authentic relationships with our families added real meaning to the day. A special acknowledgement goes to our exceptional student volunteers, whose enthusiasm and professionalism ensured the event ran seamlessly. And heartfelt thanks to Kate Mastroianni and the organising committee, whose tireless work and passion shaped a truly memorable celebration for our College community.

It certainly was a week that captured the very best of who we are.

Goldsworthy

Our EVM (EAL - Voc Major students) class delivered an exceptional campus-wide Harmony Day program on Friday, leading a full suite of cultural activities with confidence, pride and genuine joy. Their student-led presentations, parade, and cultural displays showcased the richness of our community and the strength of their own identities. For many, it was their first time presenting to large groups, and they did so with maturity and courage. Their work created a powerful and uplifting way to conclude our 2026 Harmony Day celebrations and close out Term 1.
