Wexford Newsletter Crew

This team, our Wexford Newsletter Crew were able to gather a heap of interviews with students about their experiences at the science incursion. They then had a heap of fun interviewing their new Wexford Principal Josh Brown!

Thank you again to Kaleah, Pearl and Zoey for their amazing work and dedication.

Khoshi: It was really cool because we used a lot of equipment.

Khoshi: Not to play with wires.

Brooklyn: To be safe with wires.

What would you do if you had no electricity for a whole year?

Khoshi: Go outside and touch grass.

Brooklyn: I probably wouldn't be able to live!

Khoshi: Someone famous.

Kaleah also interviewed one of her teachers, Ms Martin.

What did you like about this incursion?

It was hands on and all the students could do all the experiments and learn form each other.

If nobody invented circuits (light) do you think by now someone else would have come up with the idea?

Yes because there are so many people in the world that are interested in science and have really good brains.

What does light mean to you?

Life! Where you have sunlight, you have life.

If you had no electricity in your house, what would you do?

Use lots of candles, read more books anbd play more with my family.

What other incursions would you like to have students participate in?

I would like an incursion about how we can look after out planet and a more hands on incursion.

While Zoey wasn't able to interview her fellow students about the incursion, she was able to write a great interview with her Principal Josh Brown, alongside Kaleah and Pearl.

Pearl: How's your first term as Northern Bay College Wexford principal been?

Yeah, it's been great. I've really enjoyed coming over to Wexford and meeting lots of new families and students and staff.
There's lots of names to remember though! I'm still learning names. Mr. McCraden is coming back next year so I'll be here for the rest of this year!

Kaleah: What improvements have you seen at the school from the 1st day to the last day of term?

That is a good question.
I'm really keen on really tidying up the school. Have you gone into the gym? Remember, we had all those mats and goals and things, it's much safer now.
So we're gonna do a big cleanup next term. We started that with the gym, and we want to move through the school because I like really clean learning areas!

Zoey: What have been your highlights of this term so far?

It's a good question because I've been asking lots of people, their highlights as well. I think Harmony Day Assembly was a real highlight for me.
I really enjoyed Harmony Day Assembly and seeing all the different cultures and all the all the different outfits and the dances and things and it's good to see everybody really getting into it.

Pearl: What's your favourite colour?

Blue!

Kaleah: Oh, my God. There was a little bit of a bet going.
Everybody thought it was purple. Zoey owes me a super-duper!

Zoey: What are you doing over the school holidays?

We are going camping.
I'm going to borrow my sister's caravan and I'm taking my three-year-old daughter named Frankie. We're going to go down the beach and we're going down with 4 other people who've got kids the same age, so we're going to all go camping together. You need to look at your white ball before this question?
Of course.

Kaleah: Who's your favourite student?

Wow.
Everyone's my favourites! I can't have favourites. It's like being a  parent.
You can't have favourites, can you?  Everyone's my favourite here!
