Model UN

Recently, four teams from our school went to Mentone Grammar School for an incredibly interesting Model United Nations simulation day. 

Model UN is an educational academic experience where students step into roles of the UN delegates to debate global issues, draft resolutions and practice diplomacy, negotiation, and public speaking. They research the assigned nation’s policies, form alliances and present arguments. 

Our topic was Pathways to Peace and we spent the day debating international issues, drafting resolutions, and collaborating with students from lots of different schools. It was a great way to practise our reasoning and negotiation skills and I found it fun stepping out of my comfort zone and speaking in front of a lot of people.
