Music

On Tuesday, we welcomed musicians from Musica Viva’s Music in Schools program for a concert. The musicians performed a show which was set on a spaceship! They played many interesting musical instruments including saxophone, guitar, percussion, electronic sampler and an electronic wind instrument which could be programmed to make all kinds of wacky noises. 

We turned the school into a “Human Sampler” to create a drum kit beat together. Mr Kelly also made a spontaneous cameo appearance as “The Terrifying Gak Gak Bird” during a radio story episode, with students and staff helping to create the soundscape.  The students were a very enthusiastic audience and we all loved the show. 

Next week we look forward to our Book Week parade and Assembly, where the choir will share a song or two and there might even be a musical item from the staff!
