Grade 2  | Wattle

Grade 2 have enjoyed reading the story Turtle’s Song as part of their Literacy learning. The story is about a Green Sea Turtle. Some facts we have learnt include;

Green Sea Turtles come back to the same beach that they were born at to lay their eggs.

Avah H

The Green Sea Turtle lays eggs buried in sand. They can lay hundreds of eggs.

Isabel

Sea Turtles have lived on earth for many many years. They have been around since the time of the dinosaurs.

Lorelei

We need to look after Sea Turtles and not put rubbish in the ocean.

Karson

Floating plastic bags can be mistaken by turtles for jellyfish while they are looking for something to eat.

There are many different species of turtles.

Matilda

We plan to use facts we have learnt to write an information report.

We have also created artwork inspired by the beautiful patterns on a turtle’s shell.
