Year 11 Outdoor Education Camp

The two Year 11 Outdoor Education classes travelled to the Collie area in Week 10 to undertake their second expedition of 2025. The focus of the expedition was to continue developing and refining their mountain biking and camping skills.
The group camped at the beautiful Potter’s Gorge Campground and were lucky enough to stop for lunch at the biggest dam mural in the southern hemisphere ‘Reflections’. On the way, students recognised art from the same artist who created the piece in our quadrangle (Jade Doleman - @jdpenangke).
The group rode along the Sika Trail and tested their technical skills along trails such as Big Dipper & Van Dam! They finished the day with some campfire activities. The next day, we rode along the picturesque Munda Biddi into Collie where we had a well-deserved rest.
Thank you to Mr Walczak for all your organisation, Mr Truss, Miss Hodgson, Mr Poletti and Matthew Schultz (’21) for assisting with the smooth running of this expedition.
What the students said:
- “What a beautiful view!”
- “The climb wasn’t even that bad.”
- “Deegan is a WEAPON!”
- “I liked testing my resilience to keep going – even when I was tired”.
- “Can we do it again!”
