🛌🏻Cebula Boarding

Boarding News

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we come to the close of another busy term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the  achievements of our boys. This term has been packed with activities, and the boys have truly excelled, particularly in their participation in winter sports. Their commitment and teamwork have not gone unnoticed, culminating in several teams reaching the finals. A  couple of grand finals wins to made for a great season, a testament to the hard work and dedication of each team member. Several boys were also major award winners, further testament to their efforts.

The boys achievements continue with Anthony (Year 9) having his visual art work accepted into the City of Belmont Art Awards. 👏

We are also very fortunate to have some budding authors in our Cebula community and several of the boys took part in the 𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘋𝘢𝘺 competition recently. Working against the clock, they  planned , wrote, illustrated, and published  a complete story, all within just 12 hours! Not only did  the boys  need to draw on their writing skills, they needed  to demonstrate creativity and teamwork. We can’t wait to read their finished stories!

Four boarders were part of the ACC athletics team recently . Well done to Jett, Obadiah, Max and Riley on their selection and participation.

We were very proud in Week 7, when three  of the Mazenod College Marmun Yirra Boodja students, Atlas, Kypher and Javon proudly joined the AISWA Future Footprints x MADALAH 2025 Graduation Ceremony with a collaborative cultural performance alongside Wesley College’s Moorditj Mob and Penrhos College’s Ngala Maya girls. ✨

A special highlight at the end of term was the Year 12s “taking over the menu”  and selecting what the boarding house will eat for dinner. The boys decided on delighting us all in a shared feast of meat boxes and chips, chocolate pudding and slushies - a favorite among the boys. It was a wonderful evening that allowed them to involve the Cebula community in a special shared meal as boarders. As they now prepare for their upcoming exams in the second week of the holidays, we wish them all the best in their ATAR studies. Meanwhile, those embarking on apprenticeships are set to start an exciting new chapter in their lives. We look forward to celebrating their achievements in our valedictory events in Term 4.

I wish all the boys a well deserved holiday break and look forward to seeing them all back for Term 4 when we reopen on Monday 13 October from 3:00pm.
