Monash University Museum of Art (MOMA) Excursion

The VCE Art Creative Practice students participated in an inspiring excursion connecting classroom learning with contemporary art practice. Students visited the Monash University Museum of Art at Caulfield, exploring public artworks before touring the exhibition Knowing Otherwise through interpretive lenses. 

They then took part in a hands-on workshop with contemporary artist Mel Deerson, experimenting with text-based art and creating their own works using found text and imagery. In the afternoon, Ms Whitworth's students visited local artist Pamela Irving’s gallery, hearing about her creative practice and viewing her exhibition. 

The day offered valuable insight into how artists develop ideas, experiment with materials, and engage audiences beyond the classroom.
