Open Night |  Year 11 Camp | PST Conferences | Building Update

As we come to the end of what has been a very positive and productive Term 1, I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of our students, staff and families in ensuring a strong start to the year.

One of the highlights of the term was our recent Open Night. It was an outstanding success, with a real buzz across the college throughout the evening. Our students were front and centre, confidently leading tours, speaking with prospective families, and showcasing their learning. They highlighted everything that is wonderful about Cheltenham, a strong sense of community, pride in their school, and a genuine commitment to achieving their personal best.

What stood out most to me on the evening was the genuine pride our students demonstrated when speaking about their experiences. Listening to them share their journeys, the opportunities they have embraced, the connections they have formed, and the sense of belonging they feel was incredibly powerful. It is moments like these that reinforce the strength of our college community and the positive impact we are having on our young people.

Last week, our Year 11 students attended their camp, and I am pleased to report that it was a great success. Students embraced every aspect of the program, engaging in activities with enthusiasm, confidence and a willingness to challenge themselves. Camps such as this play an important role in building independence, strengthening peer relationships and developing resilience, all key elements of a well-rounded education.

A reminder that our Parent, Student and Teacher Conferences will be held this Thursday, 2nd April. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers and gain insight into their progress so far this year, as well as areas for improvement moving forward. It is particularly important that students attend these meetings, so they can hear feedback directly and take ownership of their learning and next steps.

Looking ahead, Term 2 will commence on Monday 20th April. We look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready for another term of learning.

Finally, I am pleased to share that our building works continue to progress very well. There has been significant visible development in recent weeks, and we are on track for the completion of Stage 1 in early May. This is an exciting milestone for our college, and we look forward to the enhanced learning environments these new facilities will provide for our students and staff.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support throughout Term 1. I wish all members of our community a safe and enjoyable break.
