From the Classroom - D4 (Miss Claire)

D4 Become Animal Species Experts!

D4 students have been busy becoming amazing information report writers!

We have been learning how to write information reports by creating our very own made-up animal species. The creativity has been incredible, and the classroom has been buzzing with excitement!

As part of our writing, we have been learning to include important sections such as:

  • Appearance - What does our animal look like? Does it have stripes, wings, fluffy fur, or rainbow scales?
  • Habitat - Where does it live? In the jungle, under the ocean, in a snowy mountain, or somewhere completely new?
  • Diet - What does it eat? Plants, insects, pizza, or something totally unusual?

Each student has given their animal a unique and imaginative name. Some students have even added fascinating “interesting facts” about their creatures.  We have animals that can glow in the dark, change colours, and even sleep upside down!

I am so proud of the effort everyone has put into planning and drafting their reports.

By the end of the week, we will be publishing our work as colourful information report posters. We would love for you to visit our classroom to see these fantastic creations displayed. Please don’t forget to stop by and celebrate our young authors!

Here are some of the students’ plans so far...
