Kinder News - Bunjil Group

Bunjil Group had a fantastic time during today's incursion with Melbourne Museum, where Selwin and Rowina shared many fascinating facts about dinosaurs and introduced us to Auslan signs. The children displayed great enthusiasm as they used their imaginations to become palaeontologists, examining clues about different dinosaur features to make informed predictions. Along the way, they learned new terminology such as carnivores, herbivores, and extinct. The children were especially fascinated to discover that Triceratops swallowed pinecones whole and even ate rocks to help grind them up in their stomachs! They proudly shared their own knowledge too, explaining that some dinosaurs had pointy teeth for eating meat and long necks for reaching leaves high in trees. A highlight of the experience was seeing and touching real dinosaur fossils, measuring themselves beside a dinosaur leg, and closely exploring a dinosaur skull. It was a hands-on, engaging learning experience that sparked curiosity and excitement about the prehistoric world.
