Foundation/ Year One News

In Foundation, we have been learning about rhyming words. Last week, we read the book Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas. It is a funny story about dust bunnies who love to rhyme, but Bob the dust bunny has trouble getting the rhyming rhythm right. Throughout the week our students practised rhyming different words from the story.
On Friday both D1 and D3 met with their Year Six buddy to collaborate together on a dust bunny craft activity. Our focus was teamwork, cutting, pasting and decorating. The Foundation students loved spending some class time with their buddy and look forward to more experiences together throughout the year.
In Year One, we have started our InitiaLit learning for the year. To accompany our phonics instruction, we read a storybook to support learning new vocabulary, sentence structure and grammar. Over the past two weeks, D5 have been reading Edwina the Emu and D4 have been reading Sam and Dave Dig A Hole. To celebrate all of our learning, we have made a craft. Take a look at our amazing creations!
