JSSATIS Year 5/6 Australian Rules Football Gala

Last Wednesday a group of Year 5/6s participated in the annual JSSATIS Girls Football Gala, which had been postponed from Term 1. The gala included six schools, and Mount Carmel played teams from Sacred Heart, St Mary’s and Fahan.
The group played as a united team. Their team work and commitment to their school was outstanding. They supported each other and had a lot of fun.
Special thanks to Chris Jackson for Coaching, and Amanda Hall for Managing the team.
State Representation

Congratulations to Olivia Ims, Year 9, who recently represented Lawn Bowls Tasmania in the Australian Under 18 Championships at the Devonport Country Club. Olivia was one of only four juniors selected from the South of the state, and played in the girls triples and fours. Congratulations Liv.

Late last term, Scarlett Henderson, Year 9, represented Tasmania in the ‘Bass Strait Challenge’ competing in Indoor Cricket against Victoria, in Melbourne. Scarlett and her team were very successful, winning half their games. Scarlett’s cricket talents extend to outdoor cricket too where she was selected in the Tasmanian Tigers pathway program. This is a fantastic achievement Scarlett.
Uniform and Equipment
If you are still holding any Mount Carmel College owned sports uniform, equipment or first aid kits, please return to the College Office as soon as possible. Donations of second-hand representative sports uniforms are also welcomed, and can be dropped off at the College Office.
