Year 9 and 10 Pathways

Students in both Year 9 and Year 10 have recently completed their final Pathways assessments for the year.

Year 9 students have wrapped up their unit on seeking casual employment by participating in a mock interview scenario.

Year 10 students have completed their transition plan, producing a career-planning document that outlines their post-school options.

GYC Head Start Program : Monday 8 - Wednesday 10 December

Parents of Year 10 students attending the Head Start Program should have received email correspondence from GYC over the past week. If you have not received this information, please contact the College directly.

If a student is unable to attend the Head Start Program, families are asked to notify GYC to advise them of the non-attendance.

Working During School Hours

A reminder that our current Year 10 students are not permitted to work for an employer during school hours.

From Wednesday 11 December, any student who wishes to begin work during school hours may request a letter from the College confirming they have officially finished the school year and are permitted to commence employment from this date.

Year 10 ADF (Australian Defence Force) Visit

On Friday 21 November, the Australian Defence Force will deliver a combined forces presentation to the Year 10 Pathways classes. This session will highlight a range of career opportunities within the Defence Forces and provide students with the chance to ask questions and learn more about potential future pathways.

Christmas Holiday Work Opportunities

A reminder to students that many organisations are still looking for casual staff over the busy Christmas period. If you’re interested in gaining some holiday work experience, you are encouraged to apply online or visit stores in person to hand in your résumé.
