Exploring careers in sport leadership and management 

Students in Years 10–12 with a passion for sport had the opportunity to hear from Tom Reeves, Engagement Officer at the Tasmanian Football Club, during a special session held recently at the College. 

In his role, Tom promotes the Tasmanian Academy of Leadership and Sport (TALS) and supports recruitment for future student intakes, using his own journey as a powerful example of the opportunities available through TALS and the career pathways in Tasmania's growing sports sector. 

Tom spoke to students about pathways into sport leadership and management, offering valuable insights into the skills and experiences needed to thrive in the industry. 

Through TALS, students can connect with leading sporting organisations such as the Tassie Devils (AFL/AFLW), Netball Tasmania and the JackJumpers. These partnerships provide hands-on opportunities and real-world exposure to careers in sport, helping students turn their passion into a profession.
