Engaged Play at Moriac

At Moriac Primary School, we recognise that some students benefit from a little extra support when transitioning into the school day. 

Morning Engaged Play

Our Morning Engaged Play Program runs from 8:50am until the music starts, providing students with a welcoming, supported space to settle in, connect with others and begin their day positively.

Lunchtime Engaged Play

We also offer Lunchtime Engaged Play during the final 15 minutes of each lunch break. Students can participate in a range of fun, supported activities including Lego, chalk drawing and other creative play opportunities. This has quickly become a highlight for many students and provides a positive way to finish their lunch break before returning to class.

These programs are an important part of supporting student wellbeing, connection and successful transitions throughout the school day.

R U OK? Day - Thursday September 10th

R U OK? Day is a national day of action that encourages us to connect with the people around us and ask a simple but important question: “Are you OK?” It is a wonderful opportunity to remind our students about the importance of kindness, connection and looking out for one another. 

To celebrate R U OK? Day at Moriac Primary School, students are invited to wear a splash of yellow and join us in promoting the message that every conversation can make a difference.

Respectful Relationships Curriculum 

As part of our commitment to supporting students' social and emotional wellbeing, all classes at Moriac Primary School continue to participate in the Respectful Relationships curriculum. This evidence-based program helps students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to build positive relationships, show respect for others and contribute to a safe and inclusive school community. This term, students will be exploring Topic 6: Help Seeking, which focuses on recognising when support is needed and identifying trusted people who can help, and Topic 7: Gender Norms and Stereotypes, where students will learn to challenge stereotypes, appreciate diversity and promote equality and respect for everyone.
