So Much to Celebrate!

What an incredible few weeks we have had at Moriac Primary School! As I reflect on the past three weeks, I am reminded just how much learning, achievement and opportunity our students experience every day.

There is so much to celebrate. Our Prep students reached their 100 Days of Prep, students across all year levels have been engaged in exciting Science experiments and Humanities learning, and our Maths classrooms have been filled with hands-on, practical learning experiences.

We have also enjoyed some wonderful special events, including our Year 1/2 Wildlife Xposure incursion, our House Spelling Bee, and our Year 3/4 Tree Planting Day. A very special congratulations must go to our incredible Year 5/6 Netball team, who represented Moriac at the Divisional Championships in Melbourne. We are incredibly proud of their effort, sportsmanship and determination.

It is remarkable to think about just how much our students have achieved and experienced in such a short time.

I strongly encourage all families to take some time to visit the year level pages on our website. There are so many wonderful photos capturing the learning, excitement and, most importantly, the smiling faces of our students. These photos really showcase what makes our school such a special place.

And we are certainly not slowing down! There is still plenty to look forward to this term, including Book Week, our Year 3/4 School Camp, RUOK? Day, and the event that our students eagerly look forward to every year – our Colour Run! We will then finish the term with our Footy Colours Day.

Humanities Learning Celebration-

Coming up in the last week of this term, is our invitation to all families to join us in classrooms to celebrate the learning that is specifically being done in the area of Humanities. Students across the school throughout the term have been conducting a range of experiments and challenging tasks as they explored many different areas of their learning within Science specifically and we would love to see many of you there. Please see invitation below. 

Book Week

Book Week is always one of the most colourful and exciting events on our school calendar, and we can't wait to celebrate the joy of reading together once again. We look forward to welcoming our families to our annual Book Week Parade at 9:15am on Friday 28 August, where our students will showcase their wonderful costumes inspired by their favourite book characters. We are also delighted to welcome our local kindergarten friends to join in the festivities. As always, there will be prizes awarded for the best costume in each year level, making it a fun and memorable celebration for everyone involved. We encourage all students to get creative and join in the excitement!

Parent Opinion Survey

As mentioned in a compass post this week a letter with instructions inviting you to complete our annual Parent Opinion Survey that all Victorian Government primary schools participate in was pushed out.

The survey will be open from today Monday 17 August and Friday 18 September.

We appreciate your support of our school and if you missed the compass post and would like support with completing this, don't hesitate to contact our school office.
