Prep

Students have been expanding on their French vocabulary learning the words for fruits. We have played 'Celebrity Fruit Heads' and answering in French if students are correct or not with a "oui" or a "non". Learning these words have helped students to add to their list of things on their J'aime vs. Je n'aime pas tables. Using our expanded vocabulary students are creating a published booklet of their likes and dislikes including animals and foods in their final copies. Students are taking great pride in publishing them and will continue to work on them over the coming weeks.

Our students have been having a wonderful time expanding their French vocabulary by learning all about different fruits! We put our new words to the test with a lively game of ‘Celebrity Fruit Heads’, where students eagerly answered questions using a "oui" or "non". These new language skills helped them build their “J'aime vs. Je n'aime pas” (Like vs. Dislike) tables. They have been effectively using the French dictionaries to further access any specific foods, seasons and animals they needed the French word for. Students are having to be very thoughtful of their use of le, la, l' and les as they publish.Now, the children are channeling that knowledge into creating and publishing their very own booklets about their favourite foods, seasons and animals. 

They are incredibly proud of their work, and we can’t wait to watch their creations come together over the next few weeks!

Our students have officially kicked off their Popular French Sports Educational Research Projects! After choosing a popular sport, students designed their own inquiry questions to explore its history, rules, and legendary players—all through a unique French lens. 

Over the next few weeks, they will conduct their research then design creative ways to present their findings to our Prep to Year 2 students. I cannot wait to see their final projects come to life and discover the fascinating cultural connections between French and Australian sport!
