Defence Mentor

I hope you are all well, and dealing with everything that military life brings!

Defence Club has so far been a huge success, which is great to see. Students enjoyed getting creative with some Mother's day activities this week, in preparation for our Mother's Day celebration morning. All the students were very enthusiastic and loved making crafts for their special person.

Kookaburra Kids Foundation

The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation is a nonprofit organisation that provides free camps, activity days and online connect sessions to young people aged 8-18.

Activity days are held throughout the year, providing an opportunity for children to connect, improve mental health literacy and improve help-seeking behaviours. Kookaburra Kids catch up with friends from camp for a fun FREE day out. Activities can include ice skating, laser tag, bowling, movies, putt putt golf and beach activities just to name a few.

For example, in Victoria, earlier this month, there was the opportunity to head to Albury-Wodonga for Indoor Skating

All activity days include a sharing Chat Group session of psychoeducation integrated with fun activities ensuring kids feel consistently supported. Activity days are delivered by a Program Coordinator and trained volunteer leaders.
