OLD McKINNON FC NEWS

Glen Eira Old McKinnon Football Club has enjoyed a standout year in the Premier Division, highlighting the strength and growth of the program.
After a challenging start to the season, the men’s side has cemented itself as a premier team, proving highly competitive against established finals contenders. Their development reflects the hard work of players and coaches alike and signals a strong foundation for future success.
Equally exciting, the women’s side continues to raise the bar, building on last year’s premiership triumph. Their consistency and drive have positioned them to compete for back-to-back premierships. This is an outstanding achievement that showcases the depth and talent within the squad.
Since forming a partnership with McKinnon Secondary College, Glen Eira has gone from strength to strength, with a growing number of McKinnon alumni proudly wearing the club colours. This partnership has not only strengthened pathways for students but also reinforced Glen Eira as one of the highest-performing community teams in the region.
For McKinnon students, the Gryphons are more than a club; it is a place to belong, to compete at the highest level, and to be part of a thriving sporting community. We are proudly the only public school aligned team in the VAFA Premier Division.

AMELIA TRAN (CLASS OF 2023)
Congratulations to Amelia Tran on playing her 50th game this year!!
She is one of the most consistent players, and has rarely missed a game over her time at the Gryphs. She’s a remarkable person, and a silent assassin in the backline, you give her any footy task and she will do it for you. Amelia has grown into an amazing footballer with one of the best drop punts going around. Well done Meals!
TOM NOONAN (CLASS OF 2022)
Look out opposition mid-fielders (and everyone else), Tom “Dom” Noonan is back on the Packer Park track in 2025!
A Gryph since 2022, but with an it-factor that far precedes, Noons is expected to wreak havoc on the opposition with his uber-clean and silky smooth moves.“I’m excited to take the next step into senior footy and have the best season I possibly can, and enjoy it with everyone at the club.”
