SCHOOL UNIFORM DONATIONS
We are looking for generous individuals, like you, who can donate new or used school uniforms for year 7-12 to our front administration office. No donation is too small, and every item can help make a significant difference to the students and families here at the College. Thank you once again for your time and consideration. Regards MESC.
NOTEBOOKS CANNOT BE CHARGED AT SCHOOL
As a part of students being ready to learn, students are expected to bring their notebook to school fully charged and ready to use for the day. We are not permitted to have equipment onsite that has not been test and tagged and notebook chargers in classrooms are an Occupational Health and Safety tripping hazard. We appreciate your support in this matter.
IF YOUR STUDENT BECOMES UNWELL AT SCHOOL
If your student feels unwell during the school day, they must report to Sickbay, located in the General Administration Office.
From there, staff will assess the situation and contact a parent or guardian if the student is too unwell to remain at school and needs to be collected.
Please note that students are not permitted to use mobile phones anytime at school to contact parents or guardians directly. All communication regarding illness must be managed through the school office.
Thank you for your cooperation.
COMPASS EVENTS
Please ensure that both consent and payment for Compass events are completed prior to the event's closing date. Extensive planning goes into creating events with consideration for numbers, staffing, transport, entry etc. The due date is strictly adhered to as numbers are provided to the event organiser to finalise event planning.
CAMPS, SPORTS, EXCURSION FUND / SCHOOL SAVINGS BONUS
CAMPS, SPORTS AND EXCURSIONS FUND (CSEF) - for valid means tested concession card holders
Please note that if you have applied for CSEF in 2025, you do not need to complete a form for 2026 unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.
From 1 January 2026, families eligible for CSEF will see an increase in support to $400 for secondary school students.
SCHOOL SAVINGS BONUS (SSB)
SSB remains on the family account until the whole amount is reconciled.
SSB/CSEF
CSEF and any balance of SSB provide payments for eligible students to attend activities like:
school camps or trips
swimming activities and other school-organised sport programs
outdoor education programs
excursions and incursions
graduations/valedictories.
SSB/CSEF is not reflected in Compass. To utilize SSB funds to pay for an event published on Compass please follow our procedure below:
Send an email to familyaccounts@mesc.vic.edu.au specifying which activity you would like to use SSB/CSEF against.
The Compass event will then be amended to allow you to give consent and/or pay the balance online, a return email will advise when this has occurred for you to then return to Compass to give permission and/or pay any balance required.
Please allow sufficient time for this process to occur prior to the due date of the event.
Alternatively, you can print off the consent form, sign and write “Please use CSEF/SSB”. Return the completed permission form to the general office before the due date so Compass can be updated (consent forms will not be accepted beyond due dates)
If you require any assistance, please contact Karen Carter 9787 6288 (press 3 for direct line) or email familyaccounts@mesc.vic.edu.au
