Year 6 Highlight

Over the past few weeks, our students have been working hard to create their own fantasy narratives. They have explored the different elements of narrative writing, developing interesting characters, creating imaginative settings and building a clear storyline. Students have worked on using descriptive and engaging language, incorporating fantasy features and carefully structuring their stories to take their readers on an exciting journey from the real world into a fantasy world and back again. It has been wonderful to see their creativity, imagination and writing skills develop throughout the process, and we are very proud of the stories they have created!

We are excited to share their finished narratives with families! Each student’s story will be printed and sent home so they can share their writing with you. You can also see some excerpts from these amazing narratives included below. 

We encourage families to take some time to read through their child’s narrative together. Ask them about their story, the choices they made and what they enjoyed most about writing it. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate their hard work and share their creativity with the people at home.
