Student Spotlight - Open Water Championships

Kaylen had an incredible competitive open water swimming season over the break.

She competed at the NSW Open Water Championships at Penrith Regatta Centre, where she placed 1st in the 5km and 1st in the 7.5km — an outstanding result at state level. 

Kaylen then travelled to Western Australia to race at the Australian Age Open Water Championships at Bunbury Beach. Against the nation’s best, she placed 6th in the 5km, 7th in the 10km, and as part of the relay team, finished 8th in the Open Age division. 

To top it all off, she attended a high-performance swimming training camp, completing high-altitude training, with the highlight being the climb to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko. 

An amazing season of hard work, resilience, and results — Wyndham College is so proud of this effort putting herself and our school on the map in open water swimming!
