STEM FACULTY

STEM 

The Mathematics, Computing and Science faculties have combined this year to become the STEM faculty. We are excited to be working together to promote success for all students in each of these subject areas.

We will be re-launching the coding club this year. It will be run on Thursdays at Recess starting from Week 4. We are looking forward to a great year with this club, having just received a lot of new equipment. Students can choose to program Arduino, Sphero Bolt, or Lego robotics. The goal is to build skill sets to hopefully be able to compete in RoboCup Junior this year.

In Science each year we have had modelling tasks where students model scientific concepts. Students have been increasingly interested in applying 3D printing to these tasks. In response, our final item of new equipment is a 3D printer. Students interested in accessing this are encouraged to discuss this with Josh.

The National AEL High School Esports Competition is Australia's largest inter-school esports competition for High School students. Weekly matches, national rankings, and genuine school pride. Games include: Marvel Rivals, Supersmash, Minecraft - Capture the Flag, Rocket League.
