After consultation with the P&C, our students, staff and the community, The Gap State High School master plan was produced. Based on the responses received, external spaces improvements, including external seating areas, were consistently noted by the students.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide additional facilities, during the December/January vacation period, picnic tables were installed on top of new artificial turf in the area between B Block and N Block. Prior to the installation, the area was dry and dusty, unable to sustain grass growth, overall, not conducive to a relaxing break area for students.
Judging by the increased numbers of students accessing the area since the installation, the improvement has been well received. We look forward to further enhancing our facilities for the use of our community.

Walkway behind basketball courts.
The gates to the walkway on the rear southwestern corner of the school grounds, connecting the school to the BCC walkway were closed in 2025 for Workplace Health and Safety reasons.
We appreciate the support from our Regional Infrastructure team for facilitating this funding to install a concrete pathway in the school grounds between the 2 school fences in this area. The works will commence at the end of February.
As the pathway does not extend past the school boundary at this site and until further rectification work can be completed, we are unable to provide access for the community through this section of the school grounds.
