This week international students from multiple year levels participated in a study skills workshop designed to strengthen their learning habits and academic confidence.
Year 11 students explored the Study Sensei program, while students in Years 8–10 focused on developing essential study skills.
The face-to-face session, delivered on Monday 16 February, introduced students to practical strategies such as effective note-taking techniques, clear formatting of notes, and ways to organise information for revision and assessment preparation. These skills support students in becoming more independent learners and improving their overall academic performance.
EAL/D teacher Mr Kwok will facilitate follow-up workshops in Week 5 and 6 to provided continued support sessions, ensuring students had ongoing guidance in applying these strategies to their learning.

Last Tuesday 10 February, our school hosted the 2026 China Trip Information Night, welcoming Year 10 and 11 students studying Chinese, and their families, to learn more about an exciting educational tour to Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an and Chengdu.
The session provided an overview of the travel itinerary, key learning experiences, and expectations for students participating in the trip. Families were introduced to the cultural, historical, and language opportunities that students will experience throughout their journey.
Students will visit some of China’s most iconic landmarks, including the Great Wall of China and the world-famous Terracotta Army Museum. In addition, they will explore major cities that showcase both traditional culture and modern development.
Beyond sightseeing, students will take part in a wide range of immersive cultural activities such as:
Practising basic Chinese language skills in real-world contexts
The Information Night also outlined important requirements for students, including travel preparation, behaviour expectations, documentation, and safety guidelines. Parents and students were given clear information on what they need to complete in the lead-up to the trip to ensure a smooth and successful experience.
This international experience offers students a unique opportunity to broaden their global perspectives, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and history, and build confidence through travel and cultural exchange.
We thank all families who attended the Information Night and look forward to supporting our students as they prepare for this unforgettable learning journey in 2026.

Last Tuesday 10 February, our community came together for a Homestay Information Session that went beyond being informative, it was a celebration of the pivotal role our homestay providers play in ensuring the success and well-being of our international students.
The session was designed to provide valuable insights and information on homestay arrangements, catering to both long-term ISP students and short-term study tour participants.
Throughout the event, our International Program Staff explored key topics such as international student visa conditions, available support services, and the terms and conditions that guide homestay providers.
It was inspiring to see homestay providers sharing their experiences, exchanging best practices, and connecting with one another. Their dedication to creating a warm and supportive environment for our international students plays a vital role in supporting students’ academic and personal journeys.
As we move forward, we would like to reassure our homestay providers that our support team is always available to assist with any questions or concerns. Their commitment to the success and well-being of our international students is truly commendable, and we are grateful for the positive impact they continue to make.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community. We look forward to continued collaboration and the collective contributions we can make to further enhance the experiences of our international students.
