Catholic Identity

Creator God, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we walk together on your path of love, hope and faith.
Thank you for the gifts of our school,
our environment, our families and friends.
May our school be a place of learning, care, welcome and celebration.
Mary our Mother, pray for us.
St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.
Amen
Thank you to all our students, staff and families for your support and participation at Mass last week and for our Ash Wednesday Liturgy. It was a reverent and meaningful beginning to the Lenten season.
Lent is a truly special time in our Catholic faith. It is a period of reflection and prayer as we contemplate Jesus’ journey toward His death and resurrection. Throughout this season, students will continue learning about this sacred journey in Religious Education lessons, deepening their understanding of sacrifice, compassion and hope.
During Lent, we are reminded of our call to give generously to those in great need. Project Compassion is a wonderful way for our school community to live this message. You will see collection boxes throughout the school, and we invite families to send along any loose change they are able to spare.
This year’s theme, “Unite Against Poverty – We Walk for Water,” is a powerful reminder that many people around the world do not have access to basic necessities such as clean water — something we can often take for granted. Through our small acts of giving, we stand in solidarity with those in need and help create meaningful change.
Project Compassion Lenten Prayer
God of compassion, You call us to walk alongside those in need. As we journey through Lent, open our hearts to see the suffering of others and give us the courage to respond with generosity and love.
May our prayers, sacrifices and actions help build a world where all people have access to life’s basic needs.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
