F/1/2 CLASSROOM

It has been a wonderful week of learning in our classroom, and I am so proud of the way all students are settling into routines and expectations.
Foundation students have been doing an amazing job adjusting to school. In Mathematics, we have been exploring time and measurement, with a focus on learning the days of the week. In Literacy, students have been developing their early sound awareness through rhyming and counting the syllables in words. We have also begun learning our very first sound and letter – M!
Grade 1 students have been working hard all week across their learning, Students have been revising digraphs, and it has been fantastic to see their confidence and engagement grow during our lessons.
In Mathematics, Grade 1 and 2 students are focusing on place value and building their understanding of tens and ones and extending their understanding with larger numbers.
Mrs Parry and I have been working collaboratively for the Grade 2 Literacy sessions. Working closely with Mrs Parry, we have been focusing on reading comprehension and fluency, alongside spelling and grammar, with a particular emphasis on pronouns. This shared approach allows us to support students with targeted instruction across our classroom. It has been so wonderful to see students applying these skills across their learning in our classroom.
Across all year levels, students have begun learning about Chemical Sciences during our Inquiry lessons. The children have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm as we start exploring how materials change and interact.
Our class has been learning how we can prey to God, and utilise our gifts that God gave us. As a class we created our wall of what we can do in Our Lenten Journey to help others.
Thank you for your ongoing support, it’s been a lovely week of learning and growth in our classroom!
Warm regards, Miss Talbot
