and Teaching

Our classrooms have settled beautifully into the rhythm of the school year. Through our initial student screening processes, we now have a very clear understanding of each student’s individual needs and how best to support them to thrive.

Data has been carefully gathered and triangulated, using three points of data, to ensure we accurately identify each student’s strengths and areas for growth. This allows us to target learning needs through evidence-based curriculum delivery. Since beginning this process in 2025 through Magnify Sandhurst, we have seen significant growth and results that are worth celebrating, not only here at St Mary’s, but across the diocese as a whole.

We are looking forward to Learning Conversations in Week 6. We trust families have had the opportunity to log into PAM to book a time slot. These meetings are brief but important opportunities to discuss individual goals and how teachers, students and parents can work together to support progress.

NAPLAN for Year 3 and Year 5 students is just around the corner. Families are welcome to visit the official website for further information. Classroom teachers will notify the Principal of any required adjustments for students, which will then be communicated to parents for approval. A letter with further details will be shared via PAM this week.

During the testing period, our Year 4 and Year 6 students will be supervised in an alternate location to ensure minimal interruptions for our Year 3 and Year 5 students completing NAPLAN.

We are proud of the strong start to learning this year and look forward to continuing to work in partnership with families to support every student’s growth.
