 5/6 CLASSROOM

Our Grade 5/6 students have recently finished reading A Ghost in My Suitcase, which has led into learning about persuasive writing. Students are preparing to write about why it is important to know and understand their family history, supported by rich classroom discussions where they have shared and reflected on their own family traditions and stories. This learning is continuing through exploring family trees, helping students make meaningful connections to their past and develop a deeper understanding of their family stories.

In Religious Education, students began an assessment task titled Seeing Jesus Through Different Eyes, where they explored how the same Gospel story can be told in different ways by different Gospel writers. By reading and comparing two Gospel accounts of the same event, students identified similarities and differences, discussed what each writer reveals about Jesus, and reflected on how Jesus’ qualities can be lived out through their own daily actions, strengthening the connection between faith and everyday life.

Reminders: Reader Diaries (bring to school on a Friday)
