Interschool Sport

Darebin Division

The sport options for Years 7-10 this term include Basketball, Table Tennis and Hockey.

Our teams did very well in the Year 9/10 Basketball and Table Tennis events that have been played, making it through to the Grand Finals. Special mention to our Y9/10 Girls Basketball team that won their event in a thrilling Grand Final, winning by 1 point!

North Metro Region

It was a busy second week of term with three NMR events. There was success at each, with our teams all making it through the pool rounds to play off in the respective Grand Finals.

Well done to our three teams that each achieved runner-up: Y11/12 Boys Netball, Y11/12 Boys Soccer and Y9/10 Boys Badminton.

State

The State Cross Country event was on Thursday July 24 at Yarra Valley Racing Club.

We had four students competing, having qualified through the two preliminary stages of competition. Congratulations to Michaela Belles, Serge Lynch, Evan Kondys and Julian Pollard who all performed exceptionally well in a very strong level of competition.

Rosie Ingham - Victoria

Rosie Ingham, one of our star athletes in Y9, represented Victoria recently at the 15 Years and Under School Sport Australia Championships in Canberra.

Victoria won 5 out of the 6 pool matches to make it through to the Grand Final against Queensland. Whilst the team lost the Grand Final, it was an amazing achievement to receive the silver medal.  

We are very proud of Rosie. We also look forward to her representing the school in Hockey soon at the Darebin Division event. Well done Rosie!
