Jackson Strong's Visit

Jackson Strong's Visit

On Tuesday the 27th May, we were very lucky to have Jackson Strong visit our school. Jackson is a Lockhart boy who has won 7 gold medals at the X Games for his freestyle motorcross tricks. He was the first rider in the world to land a front flip and the first to land a double- back flip. Jackson was riding for and touring with the Crusty Demons at the age of 13 and is a self proclaimed daredevil who is always chasing the adrenaline rush. He talked to the students about his journey, which has had its share of ups and downs. The main take-aways from his talk were; the importance of being resilient, to never give up on your dreams and hard work pays off.

Riverina Bluebell, a mental health support group, helped facilitate the visit and handed out some great giveaways to our students. The talk was like an interview, whereby Steve Matthews from Riverina Bluebell interviewed Jackson using a set of pre-planned questions. The idea of having Jackson visit our school came about when the Narrandera Rotary Club suggested the idea earlier this year. The school was very excited by the prospect and thought it would be valuable in supporting the mental health and resilience content taught in our PDHPE lessons.

Thank you to Jackson Strong, Narrandera Rotary Club and Riverina Bluebell for making this happen.
