Hands on High School

Hands on High School
Hands on High School at Narrandera High provides an opportunity for students from our feeder schools to visit and get a taste of what High School is like. This year we invited Year 5 & Year 6 students and their parents and carers into the school for an evening of information and fun.
Students headed off in small groups to trial High School subjects, while the adults were presented with information about Narrandera High School and then set off on a tour of the school. Students were set to work in Maths trying to solve tetrominoes puzzles, playing the African drums in Music, participating in drama activities with English staff, discovering the power of magnets in Science and creating clay pots in Art which will be painted and finished off during our transition days later in the year.
Parents and Carers were introduced to some staff members and then provided with a range of information which included the school vision, school wellbeing & academic supports, extra curricula opportunities available and the importance of the transition process for students and their families.
The evening concluded in the warm hall with a light supper provided for all our guests.
If you or anyone you know missed out on attending the evening and have a student in Year 6, please let the High School know so we can provide you with an information pack that was handed out to all visitors on the evening.
