Get Ready for Book Week at Nossal!
Book Week is just around the corner! From Monday 25 to Friday 29 August, we’ll be celebrating the magic of reading with this year’s exciting theme: “Book an Adventure.”
The theme celebrates how stories can transport us across borders, connect cultures, and deepen our understanding of the world.
Throughout the week, you’ll see vibrant displays across the school that capture the spirit of adventure and imagination. The festivities will kick off in style with a Dress-Up Day, where students and staff are encouraged to come dressed in either Multicultural attire or as their favourite book character. Don’t forget to bring a gold coin donation—all proceeds will support the Cancer Council and the Heart Foundation.
The morning will begin with a special morning tea for staff, followed by a lively costume fashion parade at lunchtime, bringing colour and creativity to the heart of the Nossal community.
There’s a fantastic lineup of activities planned such as the Interhouse Spelling Bee, the Interhouse Book Quiz, Creative Writing Competitions, Musical and Bollywood Performances, a Book Cover Drawing Contest and a “What Staff and Students Are Reading” Showcase.
To top it all off, we’re thrilled to welcome renowned authors Alice Pung and Danielle Binks, who will be hosting inspiring lectures and workshops for students.
Book Week is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and celebrate the power of storytelling—to learn, imagine, and connect.
We encourage everyone to get involved and help make this week a memorable one!
House Points and awards will be up for grabs, so get ready to bring your creativity, enthusiasm, and love for books!
