Central Australia Tour

Central Australia Tour - A Journey to Remember
Our 2025 Central Australia adventure took students across state borders into the heart of Australia's most iconic landscapes, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The journey began with an early 5:25am departure for the long drive to Adelaide, where students stayed at the beautiful Big 4 West Beach Park before continuing through Port Augusta to the fascinating underground town of Coober Pedy. Here, students experienced the unique semi-dugout bunkhouses and discovered how Australians have adapted to challenging environments, marking their crossing into the Northern Territory and the true heart of Australia.
Alice Springs became the perfect base for exploring Central Australia's spectacular natural wonders. This packed itinerary included visits to Simpson's Gap, Standley Chasm, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service, concluding with panoramic views from ANZAC Hill where Mr Pegrem kindly dropped by to say hello.
The adventure continued with the most exhilarating experience - a breathtaking helicopter ride over Kings Canyon at Watarrka National Park, giving students a completely new perspective on the Australian outback's scale and ancient beauty.
The following days brought physical challenges and spiritual connections as students conquered the demanding Kings Canyon Rim Walk in 3.5 hours, perfectly capped by a magical sunset at Uluru.
Their final full day was dedicated to Australia's most sacred rock, where walking around Uluru's base in the morning gave students deeper appreciation for both its geological wonder and cultural significance to Aboriginal peoples. The afternoon exploration of Kata Tjuta's impressive rock formations provided yet another dimension to their outback experience.
As the adventure concluded, students gathered around a campfire under the vast outback sky, sharing stories and reflecting on their transformative journey. These quiet moments of connection proved just as meaningful as the spectacular sights, embodying what school camps truly represent - learning, growing, and experiencing the world beyond classroom walls.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr Monaco, Ms Nieva, and Ms Budd for their dedicated support in making this unforgettable journey possible for our students.
