Start planning for tertiary institution Open Days running from late July to early September
Attending Open Day events is highly recommended for Year 12 students planning to undertake tertiary study. They provide unique and valuable opportunities to explore tertiary course options and their graduate outcomes, learn more about courses of interest from academics and current tertiary students, whilst checking out the tertiary institution's facilities and services.
Any student considering tertiary study in the next few years is encouraged to attend Open days – they are a great investment of your time and preparing beforehand will see you benefit the most from your Open day experience. See the below document for a list of 2025 Open days and advice on Getting the most out of an Open Day.
VTAC applications open 4 August for current Year 12s
The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) opens for applications from current Year 12s on 4 August. In early Term 3 Year 12s will receive a presentation to prepare them for university applications opening and an assembly where I guide them through setting up a VTAC account and the VTAC course application process. I also share important information about tertiary applications (Victorian and interstate) with Year 12s in the Class of 2025 Careers channel on Teams – it is essential that Year 12s turn on notifications and carefully read the posts in this channel to stay informed and updated.
As a qualified and registered Career Practitioner, I also provide advice and support to students on tertiary study and career pathways via one-on-one Careers counselling sessions – it is compulsory for every Year 12 to have at least one appointment with me this year to discuss their post-high school goals and students are to book a time to meet with me using the Careers Advisor appt tab at the top of the Class of 2025 Careers channel on Teams.
