Week 4, Term 3 - Junior School Update

As we move through a busy and exciting Term 3, there is much to celebrate across our Junior School community. It has been wonderful to see students engaging enthusiastically in learning, co-curricular opportunities, and community initiatives that continue to strengthen our College culture.

New K-2 Play Space Officially Open

We were delighted to officially open our new K-2 play space on Monday. This fantastic addition provides our youngest students with a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment to play, explore, and build friendships.

The excitement on students' faces as they experienced the space for the first time was wonderful to see. The play area has already become a vibrant hub of activity during breaks and supports our commitment to fostering wellbeing, belonging, and active play for all students in the early years.

Uniform Expectations and Upcoming Updates

At this week's assembly, we will be sharing several updates to our College uniform. These refinements continue to ensure our students present themselves with pride while maintaining the high standards expected at Trinity.

As we move through the remainder of the term, staff will be monitoring the wearing of the current uniform to ensure students are meeting College expectations. We thank families for their continued support in helping students arrive each day correctly dressed and ready to learn. The partnership between home and school plays an important role in fostering a culture of pride, responsibility, and belonging.

Student Progress Meetings - Monday 31 August

A reminder that Student Progress Meetings will be held on Monday 31 August. This day will be a student-free day, allowing teachers dedicated time to meet with students and families to discuss learning progress, celebrate growth, and establish goals for the remainder of the year.

Interview bookings will be available through the College's online booking system, with details communicated to families.

For students in Years 3-6, we strongly encourage attendance alongside parents and carers. Student involvement in these conversations promotes ownership of learning and allows students to reflect on their achievements, challenges, and future goals.

For students in Kindergarten to Year 2, attendance is optional and not expected, with meetings primarily focused on discussion between parents and teachers.

Dare to Dream - Musical Production

Excitement is building for next week's performances of Dare to Dream, which will be staged on 20 and 21 August.

Our students and staff have invested countless hours in rehearsals, choreography, music preparation, and production planning. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and enthusiasm shown by everyone involved and look forward to sharing this wonderful performance with our community. We encourage families to come along and support our talented students as they take to the stage.

Supporting Foodshare and Care Van

On Friday 21 August, we will be collecting donations in support of Foodshare and Care Van as part of the Year 11 Winter Sleepout initiative.

The Winter Sleepout aims to raise awareness of the homelessness crisis in Australia and deepen students’ understanding of the challenges faced by people without a secure place to sleep. Donations will also help provide essential resources to local shelters and food banks.

A donation stall will be set up in the Chapel area from 8:00 am, where students can drop off their contributions before school and during lunchtime.

Flannelette Day

Friday 21 August is also Flannelette Day! Junior School students are encouraged to wear a flannelette shirt or pants while continuing to wear the correct uniform and footwear required for their classes.

We encourage our Trinity community to get behind this important initiative and support our Year 11 students as they help raise awareness and make a difference in our local community.

Life Education Visiting Trinity

The Life Education Van is currently visiting Trinity, providing engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences for our students.

Life Education programs focus on health, wellbeing, respectful relationships, personal safety, and making positive choices. Through interactive lessons, students develop valuable knowledge and skills that support their physical, social, and emotional development. We thank the Life Education team for partnering with us in this important area of student learning.

Kinder Konnect Welcomes Future Families

On Wednesday 12 August, we welcomed many prospective families to our latest Kinder Konnect session.

It was a pleasure to see so many children and parents on site, beginning their journey with Trinity. The session provided families with opportunities to become familiar with our campus, meet staff, and experience some of the spaces that support learning and wellbeing across the Junior School.

Participants enjoyed spending time in the Library and exploring our newly opened K-2 play space. Experiences such as Kinder Konnect play an important role in helping future students feel safe, supported, and confident as they prepare for the transition to school. We look forward to continuing to build strong connections with these families in the months ahead.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support as we continue to provide outstanding learning opportunities, meaningful relationships, and enriching experiences for every student in our care. Together, we are helping our students grow in confidence, character, and a love of learning.

Last Friday, our Kinder students celebrated a very special milestone – 100 days of school! 

The day was filled with fun, creativity and plenty of counting as our students:

• Searched for 100 hidden chickens
• Built towers using 100 cups
• Designed colourful 100 Days crowns and spectacular glasses
• Created their very own 100 Monsters
• Proudly displayed their 100 Things collections, showcasing the wonderful and creative items they brought from home

It's amazing to see how much our youngest learners have grown in confidence, curiosity and independence over their first 100 days. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings. 

Year 5 Clay Creations

Check out these fantastic clay creations by our talented Year 5 students!

Students have been exploring the art of clay modelling, with the challenge of creating their very own monster. Along the way, they learned and applied the 4 S’s of modelling – Score, Slip, Stick and Smooth – to construct, join and finish their creations.

We love the creativity and imagination that has gone into these wonderfully unique monsters!
