Year 2 Update

Wrap up of Learning in Year 2, Term 2

As Term 2 comes to an end, we would like to thank all families for their continued support throughout the semester. It has been wonderful to see the growth, resilience, and achievements of all students this term, and we are so proud of how hard they have worked.

We wish everyone a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break. We hope students take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy special moments with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting Term 3!

As we wrapped up the term, students continued to build their learning across all areas. In Phonics, students strengthened their reading and spelling skills by exploring a range of graphemes and spelling patterns, while also developing fluency and expressive reading.

In Text Study, students finished reading Fantastic Mr Fox, completed a creative Wanted Poster activity, and enjoyed watching the movie adaptation while comparing it to the novel.

In Mathematics, students developed their understanding of time and calendars through hands-on activities involving clocks, dates, seasons, and everyday problem-solving. 

In Inquiry, students explored Dreamtime stories and created a 3D diorama inspired by their own narratives. 

In SEL, students reflected on fairness, respect, and avoiding stereotypes, while celebrating their growth as Respect Rangers and becoming Master Respect Rangers.
