University of Melbourne: Optometry and Audiology Partnership

We were delighted to once again partner with postgraduate Optometry and Audiology students from the University of Melbourne who provided comprehensive vision and hearing screening to our students earlier this term. 

Now in its second year, this collaboration is a wonderful example of a true win–win community partnership — one that reflects our commitment to promoting health and education well beyond the school gates.

The program offered families an opportunity to access high-quality, university-supervised testing at no cost, while also giving the University students valuable real-world experience in their chosen fields. In addition, the partnership provided a meaningful learning opportunity for our own students, who were able to witness first-hand the professionalism, expertise, and community-minded service that underpin these rewarding health science careers.

Interest in the service was extremely high, and places filled quickly - we were thrilled by the enthusiastic response from families. 

We thank all parents and carers who expressed interest and appreciate your understanding that we were unable to accommodate everyone this year. We also take this opportunity to thank the wonderful team of Optometry and Audiology students who delivered exceptional service with a smile!

We look forward to continuing and strengthening this partnership in the years ahead, further enhancing both community wellbeing and student learning through this innovative and inspiring initiative.
