Year 8 Report

Celebrating Success in Year 8

Throughout the term, we proudly celebrated students at our Year 8 school assemblies who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to our core values of Connection, Respect, and Growth. These acknowledgements not only recognise individual effort but also highlight the collective spirit that makes our school a supportive and thriving environment.

This term, we are especially pleased to recognise the students who achieved the highest number of Vision and Value recognition points across their entire year level for Term 4. Congratulations to Izzy Brown, Joel Taylor, Nevaeh Downes, Brodie Field-Och, Max Lyne, Cooper Martin, Liam Meldrum, Axel Whitnell, Lara Johnson, Ruby Peters, and Harlii Reeve. Well done to all on your outstanding efforts and commitment to our school values.

Year 8 Basketball

By Java Lauterboom

This year, our Year 8 basketball team had an amazing season! It all began with tryouts, where Mr Atrache, our coach, selected a team of 10 players. Everyone gave their best effort, and once the team was chosen, we started preparing for the Division Basketball Competition.

The division day was a great experience, and our teamwork paid off — we played really well and were thrilled to make it through to the next round. At the Regional Championships, the competition was much tougher, with some incredibly strong teams from other schools. Even though we didn’t make it to the state finals, it was still an awesome day filled with great games, teamwork, and fun.

Overall, it was a great experience for the team, and we’re really proud of how well we played together.
